Stella-Luna is a private astronomical observatory under development in Medina, Ohio, USA by James Guilford: Photographer, tech guy, and former network administrator. He also operated Stephens Memorial Observatory at Hiram College for 16 years, presenting public astronomy outreach. The observatory’s ca. 1901 telescope sold and removed in 2022 ending the outreach opportunity.

Working toward creating his own facility, the Sirius®️ observatory structure should be completed in the first half of 2024. It will house a permanent telescope pier that can be used with any of several instruments. Guilford hopes to continue astronomy outreach activities on a limited basis. Calm lamps within the distant southern sky,
And planet-dust upon the edge of space,
Look down upon the fretful world, and I
Look up to outer vastness unafraid
And see the stars which sang when earth was made.

From “Stars”, by Marjorie Lowry Christie Pickthall, ca. 1925
